December comes and goes'
Seems like it was just Thanksgiving and here it is New Years Eve. December has been a busy month. Winter is down time here at the ranch. We no longer haul water up to the cows in the canyon. Now we haul molasses, salt and minerals up to them. First, December here in the valley is cold, some days its just cool but add the wind and its cold. At the beginning of the month we had a little snow and sleet and it promised to have more later in the month. Dec 9th Elder Bedwell came down with his winter cold so he was down for the count for a few days.
Dec 12th we where on one of our runs up in Alamo Canyon we had stopped to have our lunch and we see a white van going down power line road. Now you have to now there is only so many road up the canyon an only some many vehicles go out there. We watch it go down the road and didn't think to much about it. We finish our lunch and need to go to another pasture. Going down the road we see this van in the middle of the road and it looks like their have a fire drill. People getting out of the car and started unpacking suitcases and bags. Turns out the have a flat and they're looking for the jack. Its a now starting to rain/sleet. John gets out to see if he can help. The first thing the couple ask where we the missionaries from the ranch. They introduce themselves as The Rays they had served here two years before. They where bringing their daughter and grandchildren out to show them where they served.
One of our duties is to inspect the Elders apartment. Lucky us. Dec 13 was our first time to do this. We have two sets of Elders to check on. One set here in Alamo and the other in Panaca. The ride over the mountain was so pretty they got more snow on the pass thru the mountains.
Let's just say one set of Elders passed and one is getting a second change.

Thanksgiving has came and gone, where has the time gone. We have now been here two months and so much has gone on. We've gone to the Cleveland a couple of times. The Cleveland is the other part of the ranch. Its north of a here about a 3 hour ride from here. It is quite pretty. Here some pictures of the ranch and the people of Cleveland.

Getting settled in.
We've been here almost three weeks now. Think I will catch upon on my posting news and events of our Mission. We enter the MTC on Sept 22, it was a great day for both of us. Something we had looked forward to for over 40 years. It was an emotional time when we got out name tags. At the MTC we had
5 days of training from the "Preach My Gospel". Great leaders and teachers. There where 31 seniors couples in our training, We where the only Welfare Missionary's there.

Arrived here on the ranch on Sept 27th. It had been raining that morning and they tell me it will probably be the last rain until late summer next year. The weather has been warm in the day time but cool in the evenings. Everyone tells us we've come at the best time of the year.
